This article was originally written by Chan Wern Shen on the old Lowyat.NET website. In today’s fast paced social media age, marketers are looking for new and effective (and often times, cheap) ways to leverage on readily available mediums like Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. We’ve seen a number of interesting uses of these platforms, but one that really caught our eye was a recent project by the Israel Anti-Drug Authority which leverages on Facebook’s recent timeline update. In this project the IADA created a fictional character called Adam Barak, and as you can see from the graphic above, split his timeline into two halves to illustrate his life with and without the use of drugs. Although there are only seven posts on the page, the idea that the IADA wants to push through is convened really well. We only had to look through two posts to realize how the page was set up to look, and absolutely love the way they have utilized the timeline. Our only wish however, was that the agency behind this page had gone the extra mile and worked with Facebook to injectolder posts to make the timeline look a little more complete (and believable). With some clever tweaking, we’re sure that this page can serve as a template of sorts for future campaigns or organizations to utilize in the future.
