In its latest effort to create more excitement for Microsoft’s upcoming Surface tablets, Microsoft has gone out of the box with their latest attempt: street art. A building wall in New York City has been used as the canvas to display the outlines of the Surface tablets.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Microsoft has done something like this in their marketing campaigns. Ten years ago, they were fined $50 for sticking MSN butterflies on sidewalks, traffic signals and stop signs as part of their MSN butterfly campaign.

Last we checked, there are some nice plain ol’ walls around the Central Market area over here in KL that could use some…re-Surface-ing.
