Mountain Dew’s Dew Challenge is back this year with two challenges: the amateur Dota 2 tournament and the Mobile Challenge with a total cash prize of up to RM200,000. The Dew Challenge was well received last year with the Dota 2 Challenge for amateur players, and now it is back this year with an even more exciting addition of the Mobile App Challenge. There’s plenty of information over at their Facebook page and official website, or you can read on to find out more.

Experience Virtual Drone Hunting on Your Mobile Phone via Dew Challenge App

The Mobile Challenge lets you hunt for drones in a virtual environment and compete with other players to collect as many points as you can to win up to RM50,000 worth of prizes, making it a very lucrative challenge. The top 10 players with the highest score from each state will advance against each other at the grand finals on the 11th of December 2016 in Kuala Lumpur.

After encouraging response in Penang, Selangor and KL rounds, subsequent rounds will take place in Kuantan and Johor Bahru for interested players. All you need to do is:

  • Download the Dew Challenge 2016 app from the App Store or Play Store. You can try out the Single and Challenge Mode practice modules to get a taste of the challenge.
  • Register and get an activation code from one of the Dew Challenge venues. Note that the app will only be activated during the actual gameplay periods.
  • Enter the game and capture as many Mountain Dew Drones as possible during the allotted time.

In the game, there are four different coloured drones – green (100 points), orange (80 points), purple (70 points), and blue (60 points). Once a drone has been captured, a bottle will appear and players have 10 seconds to tap and fill it up. If another player taps on the same drone, both will enter Challenge mode, where both players race to tap on as many Mountain Dew bottles as possible in 15 seconds. The winner who taps more bottles will win 100 original points and steal additional 50 points from his or her opponent.

Note that a final briefing will be held 10 minutes before each game and it is recommended that players register 30 minutes before their preferred time slot.

Ready to participate? The final two qualifying legs will take place in:

  • November 19 & 20: W.O.C Cyber Cafe, Kuantan
  • November 25 & 26: 818 Cyber Cafe, Johor Bahru
