U Mobile and Enabling Asia recently announced their partnership to enable Malaysian companies to revolutionize their business model by launching their own prepaid branded mobile services. Enabling Asia (EA) is Asia’s first Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA), which purchases wholesale mobile airtime from its partner mobile operator, and then sells it to a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO).

This means that brands can now easily and quickly set up their own prepaid branded mobile services in less than 90 days. EA will offers brands integrated solutions from licensing, billing, and technical solutions to call centre support.

Enabling Asia partners with U Mobile; Expects to launch five MVNOs within 12 months

Kuala Lumpur (Tuesday, 28th May 2013) : Enabling Asia Tech Sdn Bhd (EA) launched its services today to enable companies revolutionize their business models. Brands can now strengthen customer loyalty by launching their own prepaid branded mobile services.

As Asia’s first Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA), EA offers brands integrated solutions from licensing, billing, and technical solutions to call centre support, to enable companies get to market speedily, easily and at a lower cost.

In Malaysia, U Mobile will provide the exclusive network connectivity, in a commercial agreement sealed today between EA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Loke Yee Siong and U Mobile’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jaffa Sany Ariffin.

EA also launched its own prepaid mobile services, Buzz Me, priced at RM10 and RM30 with the prefix 011-34, available nationwide.

We are in talks with companies who are impressed with the proven model overseas where Mobile Virtual Network Operators or MVNOs are prevalent and profitable,” Loke said adding that successful MVNOs include Tesco Mobile and Ikea Family in the UK, as well as 7-Connect by 7 Eleven in Singapore.

ICT Consultancy, Ovum in its report “Global MVNO Outlook 2010-2015” reported that global MVNOs revenues are estimated to be US$9.5 billion by 2015 with MVNO revenue in Asia Pacific expected to hit US$980 million and Malaysia, US$65 million.

“Launching your own branded mobile services or MNVOs enable you to communicate with your customers directly. With a custom branded mobile offering, you can optimize your marketing and distribution channels, as well as reward your customers through exclusive offers.

“The MVNO solution we offer provides customers with loyalty benefits, earned simply by talking and spending at outlets. For every ringgit spent on mobile services, consumers will receive 20% or 20 sen back as reward points. This is the best mobile reward plan in Malaysia,” Loke also said.

“These points have no expiry dates and can be used at the brands’ outlets and our M8 marketplace loyalty website which offers the latest gadgets and exclusive deals,” he added.

For every ringgit used, Buzz Me customers enjoy 20% back as reward points which can be used at the M8 marketplace loyalty website (www.m8.com.my) which offers amongst others, mobile phones from Samsung, Nokia, Sony and Blackberry, cameras, electrical appliances and many more.

“We have invested RM20 million to provide the necessary infrastructure and hosted systems, and expect to invest another RM5 million next year. Our business model has also been carefully crafted to pay close attention to the way consumers transact purchases online, and we ensure that our customers have access to the best distribution channels possible,” he elaborated.

EA’s customers have access to more than 10,000 distribution channels nationwide including convenience stores, petrol marts, pharmacies, hypermarkets and mobile phone dealers.
