So let the iPhone 5 madness begin. This sure is one of the most exciting Friday we’ve ever had, on top of all the 4th generation iPad and iPad mini announcements, it looks like the iPhone 5 madness officially starts today. Maxis has unveiled its device bundling plans, Celcom is accepting booking fees at selected stores but DiGi still seem as calm as ever, again, this only means that when DiGi announces something for the iPhone 5, it could very well be a preorder that secures you an iPhone 5 after full payment and will be delivered to your doorstep on the day of availability.

So what are the pricing like for the iPhone 5? The 16GB version retails at RM2,199; 32GB at RM2,499 and 64GB at RM2,799. Maxis is offering the iPhone 5 with its usual iValue packages that ranges from RM100 to RM375 and a 24 months contract with the most expensive package can score you an iPhone 5 for free but let’s be realistic, how many of us actually need everything that is bundled in the RM375 plan? The calculations of the phone bundle are as follows:

I must say I am disappointed to see that Maxis is only offering it with their iValue plans, with so many new postpaid plans like TalkMore75 and SurfMore75, it would be nice to see something different for a change, after all, Maxis is offering the iPhone 4 with one of them. How many of you actually finish up everything in the bundle, i.e. the allocated free calls, free SMS and free MMS, or at least come close to finishing them?

As always, screenshot available after the break. The iPhone 5 is still listed as “coming your way soon at selected Maxis stores and MEP centres”, so don’t run off to a store now and scold the staffs for not selling you an iPhone 5; the official launch is schedule for next Friday, 14 December 2012.
