Those of you looking to own DJI’s Mavic 2 Pro or Mavic 2 Zoom, you’ll be happy to know that both drones models are now finally available in Malaysia. The two drones are the successor to the DJI Mavic Pro, and while both Mavic 2 drone models share the same air frame, they do not share the same attached camera and or gimble. As a start, the Mavic 2 Pro comes equipped with a 20MP Hassleblad camera that features a 1-inch CMOS sensor with 10-bit Dlog-M. Allowing users to record video in 4K resolution. The camera also features an aperture from f/2.8 to f/11. The camera on the Mavic 2 Zoom is rated at 12MP and uses a 1/2.3 CMOS sensor. Also, as its namesake suggests, the camera comes with 24-48mm optical zoom function that simulates a 96mm telephoto lens. To capture lossless video in Full HD resolution. One feature that is exclusive to the Mavic 2 Zoom is the new Dolly Zoom Quickshot. This feature creates a warped perspective, zooming in on the background while the subject remains stationary. Besides these differences, both Mavic 2 series drones share similar features, such as the ability to capture vivid 4K video, as well as the ability to taking nine pictures of a scene and stitching them up to create a super resolution 48MP image. Allowing drone users to retain a crazy amount of details in their shots. DJI has also beefed up the safety for the drones. Compared to the Mavic Pro, the Mavic 2 drones now come with 10 sensors built into its sides, which allows an improved Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) to guide the drones safely through obstacles without having to stop. Also, if you happen to be flying your drone at night, the Mavic 2 drones come with a new Bottom Auxillary Light that automatically activates whenever you try to land them. The drones are also equipped with DJI’s new OcuSync 2.0 video transmission system. This gives the Mavic 2 Pro drones the ability to deliver Full HD video feeds directly to the phone from a maximum distance of up to 8km. Lastly, the new drones are capable of achieving a maximum speed of up to 72km/h, and have a maximum flight time of 31 minutes. The Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom will be available for purchase nearing the end of September at all authorised DJI retailers and on Lazada.
