As the world awaits the big January 30 reveal of RIM’s next-gen BlackBerry 10 OS, the company has not forgotten its current BlackBerry users. The BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) 7.0 client was only in beta some weeks ago, and now RIM has released the final product on to the BlackBerry App World.

So what’s new in this latest version? The biggest update here is the ability to make VoIP calls over WiFi without leaving chat or photo sharing options. As shown in the video below, users can still send photos while on the voice call in BBM. Also, there is direct BBM profile syncing via a BlackBerry ID, as well as an in-app notification of future updates.
