What a way to end the year, Twitter has officially removed Instagram integration from its micro blogging service. If you’ve tried to Tweet your Instagram these few days, you would’ve noticed that all photos that were stored as gallery cards are gone and no, it isn’t a bug or a temporary error. Yesterday, Twitter officially acknowledged the change and it was even confirmed by a Facebook spokesperson.

So what does this mean for users? If you try to post an Instagram picture, instead of viewing pictures directly on Twitter, people who click on the link will be redirected to your Instagram page. But why is Twitter doing such a drastic move? Apparently, Twitter is reported to be working on its own photo filter service that gives you an Instagram-alike image that can be shared directly on your Twitter feed. Are you affected by the change?
