ADVERTISEMENT With everyone showing off their ultrabooks, how do you make yours more special so it gets more attention? Make one out of glass of course, what else can grab your attention better than a shiny, sparkly piece of gadget. But let’s not get too carried away here, when we say a laptop made of glass, we don’t mean the whole fancy transparent stuffs; the HP Spectre 14 is actually a normal looking ultrabook covered in glass –from the lid to the screen and even the wristpad. What’s fancy on the outside comes with equally attractive interior as well, under the shiny notebook packs a Core i7 processor, up to 256GB of SSD storage and up to 8GB of RAM. Sure, a glass notebook does sound good, especially when they start shining and all, but after a touch or two, that shiny piece of gadget will turn into a fingerprint collage especially on the oh-so-fancy lid. According to Gizmodo who had a hands-on, it smudges really easily so I’m not quite sure if it’ll be as fancy as it was by the end of the day. On the brighter side, it is very responsive and the keyboard is very nice to type on. Great, more screen protectors to buy, if you want it to be thumbprint-proof, do buy a matte protector which will defeat the purpose of this shiny piece of device. Also if you wish to get this notebook which costs USD$1,400, make sure you don’t drop it especially when you’re enjoying your favorite music on its Beats by Dre audio.
