ADVERTISEMENT Sometimes when using our laptops, we might not need all the features it promises so why waste precious battery power when all you want to do is listen to some music while checking your email? The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Hybrid is pretty much similar to the old X1 except that it packs a second low-power processor made by Qualcomm and can boot a lightweight OS that is very similar to Android (that’s because it IS Android because it’s based off the Android 2.3 kernel). Dubbed as the Instant Media Mode (IMM), the second OS that boots in about two seconds, allows you to do all the basic stuffs and the best thing about it is you can get double the battery life – up to 10 hours in total. The basic stuffs you’ll get to do includes checking your email, surfing the web, listen to music, watch movies and browse photos; fair enough, but I think I know other laptops that can promise up to 8 hours of battery life without a problem. The main operating system is none other than Microsoft Windows 7 and is powered by Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. The ThinkPad X1 Hybrid will be available in Q2 from USD$1,600 onwards.
