Halo’s live-action series has finally been previewed at San Diego Comic Con. The show, which is being produced by the soon-to-be defunct Xbox Entertainment Studio, is set to make its debut in November on the Xbox. Set in between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, the series will follow the exploits of Jameson Locke and his team as they investigate terrorist activity in a distant colony. Yes, there was a distinct lack of Master Chief mentions in the preview. Despite the lack of everyone’s favourite cybernetically-enhanced supersoldier, Halo: Nightfall sports considerable talent behind the show; starting with Ridley Scott acting as executive producer. Scott’s mark on the series is noticeable as parts of the preview have a slight Prometheus feel to them, and viewers can probably expect other hallmarks of the renown director’s visual style to end up incorporated into the show. However, the man behind the Aliens series is not the director of Halo: Nightfall; a task that falls to a Sergio Mimica-Gezzan who has had experience directing episodes of Battlestar: Galactica, Heroes, and Prison Break.
