Remember the automatic photo sync Facebook was testing for Android and iOS device? The feature has just passed its testing phase and is now officially available on both platforms; the social network platform is rolling it out to users so if you haven’t received it yet, wait a little longer and check again.

Just to recall, when activated, Photo Sync on Facebook will automatically sync all your new or old images straight from your device to your Facebook account into a private folder called Synced From Phone. All uploaded images are private and will only be visible to you until you select it and share it out to your friends. What makes Photo Sync better than other similar services such as Drop Box is that since the photos will get uploaded right after you take them via email or 3G (you can change this in the settings page), sharing them will not require you to upload again.

To activate it, you will need to visit your own Timeline using the official Facebook app. Open up the Photos folder and if you see the Synced tab below, it means that it’s ready for you and you can open it to activate it. Facebook Photo Sync comes with 2GB of storage space.
